BAP guidelines are widely recognised as a leading source of information to help optimise the care of patients. They complement NICE guidelines often being more easily readable and more pragmatic. Over the years, the BAP has expanded its range of guidelines and these are all updated on a regular basis. In 2015 BAP introduced BAP guideline ‘launch’ meetings. The idea was to provide clinicians with an opportunity to hear first-hand about new and revised guidelines, the changes that have been introduced since previous versions, and how these relate to other guidelines, such as NICE, in the field. These meetings have proved extremely popular. As a result BAP has undertaken to run launch or introductory meetings related to new guidelines whenever possible. They are all one off meetings and by their very nature they are all different.
