This module is going to cover the pharmacological management of alcohol dependence. In this module, I just want to be clear about the definition of alcohol dependence, I’ve used it as the classification in ICD 10 and 11 and I mean alcoholism or alcohol addiction. With regard to DSM-5, the use of alcohol dependence as a term here equates to moderate to severe alcohol use disorder.
