  1. 2012 BAP/Cambridge Cognition Award on 15th February 2012
    The British Association for Psychopharmacology (BAP) and Cambridge Cognition are strongly committed to promoting and encouraging research in the area of Psychopharmacology that could directly, and in the near term, translate to patient care. Specifically to support the development of novel assessments, treatments algorithms, interventions, or assistive technologies, an exciting new Award is announced of £500 to particularly reward translational approaches in Psychopharmacology. This competitive, BAP Council-panel reviewed Award will enable the successful candidate to present their innovation in the form of either a poster or oral presentation at the summer meeting. The Award consists of a one-off prize of £500 and the registration fee for the summer meeting will be waived. Award application criteria and procedure
    • - Applicants must be new or existing BAP members.
    • - Applications must be from the UK, residing in the UK, and be within 10 years of receiving their first degree.
    • - BAP/Cambridge Cognition Award applicants must complete the on-line form, submit a CV and a 500 word summary explaining (with evidence) how their research could be applied in a medical setting.
    • - All applications with supporting documentation, CV plus 500 word summary, must be received by March 9th 2012.
  2. APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN for the 2012 L’Oréal-UNESCO UK and Ireland For Women In Science fellowships on 15th February 2012
    L’Oréal UK and Ireland, the UK National Commission for UNESCO and the Irish National Commission for UNESCO, with the support of the Royal Society have partnered together to provide a dedicated UK and Ireland For Women In Science Fellowship Programme for women scientists at postdoctoral level to enable and/or facilitate promising scientific research in the life or physical sciences. Four Fellowships will be awarded in 2012 to outstanding female postdoctoral scientists to assist them with their research. The Fellowships, each worth £15,000 (equivalent € for candidates in Ireland), are tenable at any UK or Irish university or research institute to support a 12-month period of research. The fellowship money can be spent in any number of innovative ways to enable women scientists to further their careers and facilitate world class research - such as buying equipment, paying for childcare or funding travel costs to an overseas conference.
